It is your perspective. Do not bash like this about India in public forums. Feel free to experss yourselves but be honest and tell the truth.
I do not agree with overall bashing about India. It is not that bad as you have told. I have lots of friends who are neither engineers nor doctors, but doing very great job. There are accountants, lawyers, teachers, professors and self employed people who are all doing good and great.
Yes, infrastructure is bad. But it is all relative comparision. India is doing good and will do good. You have freedom to do whatever you like. Education system is good everywhere inlcuding villages. Opportunities will not chase you, you have to chase them and it is true everywhere in the world.
GC Cons:
1.You cannot enjoy the company of your parents/relatives.
2.Your wife cannot work.
GC Pros:
1.You and your family will be raised in a pollution free environment.
2.God forbid,if you ever get into an accident the cop would at least write down a complaint. If there is an emergency there would be an ambulance. My father had to go through this unfortunate experience.
3.In India, given the real estate boom , anyone who has land in cities like Mumbai /Pune would rather build a mall or residential complex instead of Schools/Colleges.People are getting jobs now. Have they wondered where their kids will go to school/college? When it comes to getting jobs in India, everyone wants a candidate from a reputed college / university which is usually associated with the number of years the place has been around.
4.If you want to settle outside cities, then you do not have access to the best in education and whatever so called infrastructure is there to offer.
5.Back home, if your kid does not grow up to become a Doctor or Engineer he/she goes so much down in the social hierarchy that it is difficult to imagine.Only careers available are Doctors/Engineers.Last option is to join call center and live a nocturnal life.
5.Infrastructure?
6.The job hierarchies in India are mostly namesake , at least in IT. The moral compass of Indian corporate world is pointing directly, constantly, and unerringly to hell. You will notice a "Sir-jee" system very soon after you start working there.
7.On a last note, with a surge in purchasing power it is immature to declare India a developing/developed nation so soon. That tile is at least 500 years away and we have not started making the ground work yet(the Chinese have).

He got info from USCIS through congressional liason that his 140 was indeed approved on the date when the IO claimed it was denied and it was indeed revoked when he got a denial. The revoke was initiated by his employer.
They seem to have all info proper. There is no faulty system. If there is faulty system, probably we have known by now with things never happening right
Thanks for the clarification. Regarding faulty system, if it's not the database, it must be the practice. We have heard not few cases of AC21 cases being improperly denied.
My take is that the system used by USCIS is not designed to check for AC21 cases and so rightfully, when IO sees denied I-140, they deny the I-485. I think their Manual is also not updated to reflect AC21. AC21 is still a memo and not in their Manual.

I just spoke with a CapitolHearings rep and she said she is going to get the technical team in charge of this to look into it
Hopefully it should start soon
They have not heard back from the technical team that does the relaying of live feeds. I'll bug them again in a few minutes

Buddy,
If a majority of members on IV are not in support of your idea, would you agree that its not fair to organize these kind of things on IV forum? I can imagine how hard it was for the people to bring this organization to this stage. While you haven't contributed much, you are trying to break it up for your own selfish reasons. God knows if you will really benefit anything out of this. How different are you from anti-immigrants who claim that immigrants are stealing American jobs?
Can you change the poll to include EB2 people who do not intend to support you idea? You say a number of people are supporting you...and 6 is a number? What is the percentage?
I have not raised anything yet. We do have a number of members ready to support. We are getting there. People, please come forward. Lets get this thing going.
Send me a PM if you are not sure about posting on the forums here.

A small but important correction in the above quote. Indian education is not a gift of the Brits. As a matter of fact history of eduction in India dates back to its cultural heritage. Nalanda university is considered to be the worlds first university. Correct me if I am wrong.
Yes. Nalanda Univerisyt is one of the oldest. If you consider the 80% of education system we follow, they are all gifted by brts.
Ex: English... the way we speak and use the language is like brit.
Irony,,, Nalanda University is being revamped (I think structure wise) by Japan government.

There's nothing new there. Its silly actually. The later bulletin supersedes the previous bulletin and everyone knows that.
But they are just connecting the "flip" and the "flop" of their flip-flop of visa bulletin. They are saying that if you read "Flip", then "Flop" must be read too and if you read "Flop", then "Flip" must be read too, in order to make sense of the Flip-Flop.
Its like saying "I voted for current visa bulletin before I voted against it".

Absolutely wrong. If husband and wife are filing a joint tax return, it is wrong on her part to send money to her parents without informing her husband. Leave the taxes, it was simply wrong on a wife's/husband's part to do ANY major money transaction without letting your other partner know. Its equivalent of cheating (just financial cheating). Do you think it is ok for a man to send money to his parents?
I do agree with your point that information about transactions should be known to both parties. To answer your question, yes, in my opinion, it is perfectly OK for a man to send money to his parents since the man is earning. If the girl earns, she earns that right.
Say, when the couple goes to India for a vacation, I totally support the girl buying gifts similar to what the man has bought for his family/relatives. I also support assistance based on humanitarian needs for girl's parents. ONLY when it is comes to demands of sending monthly allowance or occasional lump sum, a line needs to be drawn.

During previous phone call campaigns, our members came out w/huge numbers and were instrumental in getting the support. This I know because the Senators office phones were just constantly busy and once you started mentioning high skilled, they would know and finish your statements for you. This time though, that does not seem to be the case. Please, please step up. I just called 4 out of TIER 1 again.

He has asked the absent senators via staffers that if they do not want to come to hearings, they can leave this committee and let others take their place. Apparently they need atleast one democrat to proceed.
He is waiting for atleast one more senator to turn up before 3.15 pm else hearing will be adjourned
Senator Cornyn is offering a new amendment now (#6107 ) illegal aliens convicted in felony cannot file for petition for spouse...again this is not related to us

My wife is on H4, i'm on H1B. She applied for DL renewal and was renewed for 1 yr.
They accepted visa, passport, i-94, and H4 renewal receipt notice.
They gave her one year from receipt notice.
What a relief. i was worried they would not accept it.
That was in Sterling VA DMV.:)
My wife was on H4 but now on H1/Opt. We went to DMV (Sterling, VA) . They checked the passport but did not check anything else. They renewed DL for 5 years instead of 3 years. Not sure what happened but she looked at the passport. I did not offer any other document because she did not ask.

Hi,
I entered in to USA on 11/1999, still working on H1B
GC: PD is 2005, EB3
I can't port to EB2, as my education is combinational (Diploma + AMIE), not 4-year single degree.
Thanks,
KKT
Pappu excellent post full of true facts. Being smart in my opinion means being knowledgeable and aware of the current situation at any given point of time rather than being ignorant and indifferent. Most of the time doing some basic research can lead an individual to the right option that is legally consistent and correct, its really never too late to correct course. Yes there will be street smart people (Sub labor being one example) who will game the system but besides other things lets accept that they know how things work. Life is about learning and then What Next? Its really about continuous improvement and trying to move in the right direction. Not having the desired end result is fine but not doing anything or not trying is bad. Very nice and motivating stories from some of the veterans you give us the motivation to hang on. OP you seem to have started a nice discussion.
