This is good information to know. If this is the case, then at least once in a year they have to make all the categories current. May be for September every year so that they do not waste any VISA numbers.
Per country quota is not applicable based on AC21 rule when it is current for every one. This is what happened due to the July visa bulletin fiasco. As they are honouring that bulletin, they are also forced to approve across all country

One last question, if you don't mind.
I assume yours is a conventional loan, how much equity do you have on your home, and how much down payment did you make on your home purchase first time?
I didn't pay any points. I locked in two weeks back and closed this week. Lender is a local bank in Mass.

I have talked to a representative and he very patiently explained me about the mess.
He clearly and very clearly told me that they have a deadline to send all receipts for June end and July 2nd filers by friday (tomorrow) or worst case monday.
He mentioned that they are working hard to meet this deadline.
Hope this clears the anxiety.

I do not support this donor ONLY idea.
Also, Day 1, the FOIA initiative had a goal of $5K.
And without reason, the goal was increased to $10K.

1. What are the steps involved in to do everything right?
2. Is one of the step "ex employer informing USCIS about the job change has gone through this"?
3. If not then what are the disadvantages or if can't trust employer ?
Please let us know about all the steps involved to switch employer by invoking AC-21?

Ok, basic steps
(1) Make sure you have your petitions in the online portfolio.
(2) Make sure you report address changes promptly and they have latest address on file
(3) Try to get a copy of labor or atleast know what skills have been mentioned - remember it has to be similar and does not exactly be the same
(4) Make sure, you work for atleast 180 days with your sponsering employer after filing 485
(5) It is always good to get a 140 approved before you move. Pending 140s though allowed in AC21, maybe kinda risky because if your sponsering employer is having ability to pay issues, or your current employment is not paying proper salary - then you may be subject to ability to pay issues and 140 may never get approved
(6) Always good to inform USCIS of job change via AC21 letter - you must keep a copy and also track fedex and keep proof of delivery
(7) Keep a copy of 140 approval - though it may not be required, but good to keep.
(8) Always expect that your ex employer may revoke your 140 any time - USCIS is now conducting audits and employers may want to kee their records clean, so expect the 140 revoke anytime.
(9) If 485 gets denied, file for a Motion to reopen and immediately open a case problem with Ombudsman's office and keep the motion to reopen receipts
(10) If MTR is getting elayed, contact senators or congressman's office and do a congressional enquiry. Their liason will be more helpful.
(11) Customer service or infopass may never help unless it is address change or fingerprint or name check issues.

Same here - Masters from US, with PD 2006....Stilllllllllllllllll waiting!!!!!
I was reading an article handed over by my Lawyer sometime back - the whole GC process was designed to be completed in 6 mos. end-to-end.
This goes to show how outdated the process is, plus the resource crunch they may be facing at USCIS.
All in all - it's a black hole...only your 'karma' can get you out of it:)

None of the organizations succeed without making people accountable for their actions or inactions. This is true in the case of IV as well. We are all individually accountable for the current state of affiairs at IV, either good or bad, and we must accept or atleast acknowledge that before looking for solutions.
Before going for big ticket items like leadership change, elections and other politics let us focus on what we can improve instantly or in the near future. We all know that in the immigration process, there are only few factors or variables we can control, and rest lies with employer or DHS or USCIS or U.S. Government. One thing we can control is how we can improve our actions so that our voices will be heard to those who can act on our behalf. The list includes legislators, senators, media and local immigration community based organizations.
As a first step, let us add 'ACTION ITEMS' tab on the menu of IV home page. This action items tab will have list of 'to-dos' by all members on a monthly basis. These simply include, say, in July-09, every member should send one fax to local legislator, or write a letter or e-mail to media organizations like CNN, Business Week etc. We may do the same thing with different but similar content based on how events un-fold on a monthly basis. Now, the leadership with the help of other volunteers should come up with monthly agenda, and provide tools like - format of letter, content etc. The other member should just have to follow.
I will conclude with a quote from Anthony Robbins (great leadership coach): "Your life will not change by reading or listening....your life will only change by action". Let us make every one accountable in this process.

anyone wants to guess as to when EB3(I) will reach 2003 Dec. I know it is long long time away but it has to reach that date some time in the future.
Going by what has happened this year, assuming no legislation relief in the near future, dates are NOT going to move forward for EB3 for a very long time. The movement would be slow for EB2 I as well.

Our prison system is overcrowded, and costs incurred from incarcerating criminal aliens continue to rise. The Department of Justice estimates that one in five federal prisoners, and more than one in ten state prisoners in Nevada, are non-U.S. citizens. That is why I support the Department of Homeland Security's Immigration and Customs Enforcement initiatives that give state and local law enforcement the necessary tools to stem illegal behavior, such as the expansion of the Rapid Removal of Eligible Parolees Accepted for Transfer (REPAT) program. The REPAT program paroles non-violent criminal aliens serving state sentences so they can be deported. In Nevada, 2,560 criminal aliens were flagged for removal in Fiscal Year 2008 and 2,183 in Fiscal Year 2009. aiming london shooting tokyo, thats exactly what this bill is doing. The vast majority of nonsense is created by small "con"sulting companies, i.e shell companies with less than 50 employees. Infact Schummer if he wanted a solution for h1b missue should have gone after these small "con"sulting companies rather than real multi national companies like infosys,tcs, wipro etc. I am not a fan of this bill but if you going to put restrictions on h1b do it the right way. it is these small "con"sulting companies with less than 50 employees that did illegal things like selling approved labor until using approved labor was abolished, it is these small "con"sulting companies which work on 80 20 model which are bringing disrepute to h1b and people working on h1b. by putting this rediculous rule which says only comapnies having more than 50 employess will be targetted by this law schummer inadvertently is encouraging the setup of more "con"sulting companies. The vast majority of green cards issued in the last 5 years (may be as hight as 80% of green cards) have been issued to the "con"sultants" working in these "con"sulting companies. People working in fortune 500 companies abide by all rules like it is the job responsibily which determines eb1, eb2 or eb3 and not your educational qualifications and therefore i have seen phd recepients applying in eb3 whereas the "con"sultants working in these "con"sulting companies who have sometimes b.sc bcom or btech degrees applying in eb2 by faking experience to show 5 years requirement, they work in SAP but they advertise the position as someone needing java or any programming experience. this is outright lying, how can people working in fortune 500 and legitemate companies complete with these "con"sultants and these "con"sulting companies with less than 50 employees for green cards.
For green card reform the biggest culprit is per country limit\quota, the above issue is small compared to the country quota but it still needs to be solved.

As much as I appreciate the efforts that the IV core team has put in, them being so secretive, it is almost like they have formed a cabal.
I agree with ItIsNotFunny. The very least the IV core team can do is post updates on what they are up to. That way if someone believes in a particular initiative that IV is undertaking wants to help, they can contact the concerned IV core team member and offer to help.
I am sure instead of the core team trying to burden themselves with all the work, if they let individuals who believe in particular cause to help them, then life would be a lot easier for everyone. I guess that would also get more people involved with IV.
I know I am out of the rat race, so if you think I am being patronizing, my apologies.

Ok, so I saw the video. I am confused by his analogy and I am a scientist. Maybe it is the lack of data analysis and graphics he keeps referring to. He is not a great speaker. I stopped watching it midway.
